During College Application Week, seniors will have the opportunity to receive help with submitting college applications online. Counselors will be available to assist students throughout these five days and will work with teachers to ensure that all seniors have the to opportunity to participate. Please keep in mind that during this week, some NC state colleges waive their application fees!
James Kenan High School received a grant from the Kenan Foundation valued at $25,000. This grant will be used to construct a barn to be used for animal housing. The grant was written by Michael Holton, Shane Dickerson, and Tiffany Cassell. The grant amount will fund the barn materials, electricity, plumbing, and labor for construction.
Saturday, October 25, the JK Marching Tigers traveled to Tabor City to compete in the Stallion Band Classic. They won 2nd place in music, marching, percussion, drum major, and general effect. They also won 1st place in color guard and 2nd place overall. Congratulations to Ms. Green, Band teacher, and the Marching Tigers!
