2013-2014 Middle School Battle of the Book List (6th/7th/8th)

At North Duplin Elementary School, we are truly WILD about reading! The North Duplin Elementary School Media Center offers a variety of multi-media resources available to teachers and students. The media center operates on a flexible schedule which allows students and teachers access to books and resources throughout the school day. Classes in each grade level are taught skills lessons based on teacher collaboration and student need.

The mission of our library media program is to help students and staff effectively use ideas and information. This mission is accomplished by:

  • nurturing a love of reading and an appreciation of books.
  • fostering each child's natural curiosity for knowing.
  • providing intellectual and physical access to a variety of interesting and reputable materials.
  • providing instruction to foster competence in accessing, evaluating and using print and electronic resources.
  • working with teachers to design and implement authentic learning experiences that meet the academic and personal developmental needs of all students.
