How to find area and perimeter

Area of rectangles and squares = Length x width
Perimeter = distance around the figure (add all sides)

To find the area of an irregular shape:
Step 1: divide it into squares and rectangles
Step 2: Find the area of each part
Step 3: Add all areas together to get a final total
