The fourth graders have been learning so many interesting things this year! In math, we have already conquered long division, double-digit multiplication, fractions and decimals! Look out solids, measurements, and probability---we are ready to tackle you, too! In reading, we have been introduced to so many interesting characters and stories. In Old Yeller, we got to experience how times were back when the settlers just got to Texas. With Because of Winn Dixie, we began to understand how important it is to be a good friend. In The Mystery of Blackbeard the Pirate, we traveled to the Outer Banks and discovered all about Edward Teach and where he came from. We are looking forward to meeting other characters such as James and his giant peach, as well as, Jesse Aarons, as he makes his way across The Bridge to Terabithia. In science, we have been learning all about animals, their growth, and adaptations. We have discovered why the polar bears have white fur and why the giraffe has such a long neck. We have also learned about NC plants and how they adapt to the land, including the Venus Fly Trap that eats meat! We are looking forward to learning about rocks and minerals as the year goes on. We want to thank our parents for your continued support! Please do not hesitate to contact any of us! |
