Power Up and Power Down

Power Up and Power Down are our school-wide enrichment programs that are aimed at helping our students increase their K-2 reading skills and EOG math and reading scores. All teachers focus on reading skills during Power Up in the mornings. K-2 students do Open Court Phonics during this time, and 3-6 students work on EOG reading skills. We use Power Down in the afternoons to focus on math skills and RTI interventions. K-2 Power Down is 1:35-2:20; 3-6 Power Down is 2:20-3:00. At these times teachers emphasize differentiation and small groups. It is imperative that we protect this time because of its importance. We ask that parents please have your children in school by 7:50 each morning and please refrain from picking them up early in the afternoons. The bus rider bell rings at 3:05 and it is important for students to stay until the end of the school day.
