Second grade had a very memorable event happen during the week our students were reading the story, "Mr. Putter and Tabby Fly the Plane". Mr. Prybylinski (our ESL teacher's husband) came out and actually flew some of his model planes for our students. It really was exciting to watch those planes go high into the air and made the story much more enjoyable for our students to read!!!! We're hoping he will come again next year!!!!

Also, during the month of December, our second grade teachers met with Mrs. Hall and put together a math unit relating to money. We worked as a team to put together an assessment for the unit, used and shared centers relating to money, and utilized manipulatives while working with problem-solving strategies to further enhance students' understanding of coins and their values. Students and teachers had a lot of fun working on this unit!
