MISSION

We the staff of E. E. Smith Middle School believe it is the responsibility of our school to provide clean, adequate facilities, a safe and warm environment, and qualified teachers.  We believe this will ensure that all children, both in the regular and exceptional classrooms, are provided with the opportunity to develop mentally, physically, morally, academically, socially, culturally, and creatively to his or her maximum ability.  We believe students should become  productive and responsible citizens.  We believe this can best be accomplished through effective instructional leadership, high expectations for all students, a safe and orderly environment, frequent monitoring of student progress, and effective home school relationships.

PHILOSOPHY

The E. E. Smith Middle School embraces the belief that strong educational leadership is necessary for establishing an effective learning environment for all students.  This rationale will support learning opportunities, which will enable all students to function successfully in an ever changing society.  We strongly feel that through the application of this philosophy, all children will become productive citizens with a sense of personal fulfillment.  We believe that it is necessary to establish, promote, and sustain cooperative home, school, and community efforts in order to maintain effective schools where all students learn.
