Gates Millenium Scholarship for African Americans/Indian/Asain Pacifics or Hispanic Americans. Must be a US citizen to apply and have a 3.3 GPA. Applications are available in guidance and online. Deadline to apply is January 11, 2010.

North Carolina Teaching Fellows Scholarship. Apply online at www.ncteachingfellows.org. Applications due to Mrs. Jones in guidance by Wednesday October 14, 2009.
Burger King Scholars Progam Scholarship in the amount of $1,000.00. Applicant must be a senior with a 2.5 GPA or higher, working 10 hours per week or 40 weeks per year, be activiley involved in community service, and deomnstrate financial need. UNC Charlotte Levine Scholars Program. The Levine Program offers approximately $90,000.00 in tuition, room and board, laptop, and service project grant money. To apply you must be nominated by your school guidance counselors. To qualify for nomination you must have a GPA of 3.8 or higher, have an approximate SAT score of 1800 or higher, and demonstrate community service involvement. Nominations are due by November 16, 2009.
Teacher Cadet sholarships: Two $1,500 dollar scholarships awardes annually to seniors who plan to pursue and education in teaching. Go to www.ncteachercadet.org for more details. The guidelines and applications will be available mid-October.
FTA Scholarships: Eleven scholarships, valued between $500.00 and $1,000.00, are awarded to FTA high school seniors who plan to pursue and education in teaching. Go to www.ncteachercadet.org for applications and details.

If your veteran parent was a resident of NC when he/she entered military service or if you are a lifelong resident of NC you may be eligible for a scholarship from the state of North Carolina to attend one of the universities, community colleges or technical institutes within the state of NC. For Details contact your school guidance counselor or the Duplin county veterans service office at 252-522-5050.
The North Carolina National Teenager Scholarship Organization is now accepting applications for the 2010 NCNT Pageant to be held March 27, 2010, in Charlotte, NC. Scholarships are available to winners. For entry applications/information go to www.ncscnationalteen.com.
The Maynard Scholarship to East Carolina University in the amount of $20,000.00 over four years is awarded to outstanding seniors that did not receive the Teaching Fellows Scholarship. The scholarship is modeled after the NCTeaching Fellows scholarship and as so requires participants to teach in a public school for four years after graduation. AXA Achievement Scholarship. To apply go to www.axa-achievement.com. Deadline is December 15, 2009. Must be active in community, overcome a personal challenge, or led a community project.
Centennial Scholars Program. Scholarship that covers tuition and fees for students interested in the textiles program at NCSU. See guidance if you are interested in being nominated by October 28th. Requirements include high academic achievement, leadership, extra curricular and unique life experiences.
Scholarship for Bowlers $1500.00. Must be a member of the NCS USBCA and bowling in a certified NC youth league. Deadline is March 1st.
