KES is off to a great start with Parents - you can help US help your child - Make sure your child gets plenty of sleep! Elementary age children should get 9-10 hours of sleep every night. - Check to see that your child has done their homework, and that it is done correctly. Look over it and help them understand areas where they are having problems. - Feed your child a nutritious breakfast, or get them to school early enough to eat in the cafeteria (before 7:50). - Get your child to school on time and let them stay the entire day if possible. Our morning tardy bell rings at 7:55 and our school day ends at 2:40. Important instruction is taking place at ALL times in between! - Be in contact with your child's teacher. When kids know that their teacher and parent will be talking, it makes a difference! Notes in your child's planner are a great communication tool.
