Language Arts and Social Studies

Welcome, students and parents, to the 2009-2010 school year.  I am happy to have you as part of our team.  You will be able to find information for 6th grade langugage arts and social studies on these pages.  I will work to keep the information here current.

This year we will concentrate on a personal best goal for each student.  As we focus on vocabulary and fluency, we will improve comprehension and writing.  I believe that with daily effort on the parts of the student, the parent, and myself, each student can increase his or her reading comprehension by three grade levels during this year!

To accomplish this goal, there will be a few standing homework assignments that must become routine.  You will be able to come to this website for weekly homework information. You may find the homework listing by clicking the "Scrapbook" link to the left.  I will also post some documents, including word lists and articles for work with your child at home.  These documents can be downloaded from the Document Manager page.
