Assessment

Dear Students,

Spring is here and the 2012-13 School Year is almost over!  I want you all to know I am very proud of you because I’m confident you and your teachers have worked really hard to make sure you have learned everything you’re supposed to.  Every day you are learning, and every day your teachers are assessing your knowledge.

When your teachers assess your knowledge, they are checking to see if you have learned what they are teaching.  Sometimes the assessment is simple and comes in the form of a question.  Other times the assessment is a quiz or a test.  Teachers even use games to assess the learning that is taking place.  Whatever the form, the teachers want to know what you know.  This information helps them understand what else they need to help you learn.

You are all preparing for your end of the year assessments.  If you are in Kindergarten through second grade, you will complete a “K-2” Assessment.  If you are in third through eighth grade, you will complete “End of Grade” Assessments.  Regardless of your grade level it is critical for you to do your very best on all assessments.  If you are unsure of something, always ask questions.

I know you will keep working hard and I look forward to seeing your wonderful end of the year assessment results!  Remember:  always listen to your teacher, be respectful of others, and never forget God put you here and you are very important!  I love all of you.

 Your humble servant,

Austin Obasohan
