Parent/Guardian Response Procedure
If you have concerns about any incidents involving your child at school, you are encouraged to take the following steps:
1. Report any incident to your child's classroom teacher.
2.Next, you may make an appointment and speak with the assistant principal. They will investigate, counsel, and determine what actions need to be taken. The principal of the school will also be notified of all incidents and become involved as needed.
3.If a you are not satisfied with the results taken by the assistant principal, you are encouraged and welcome to make an appointment and meet with the principal of the school.
4.If after meeting with the principal, you are not satisfied, and it is a STUDENT
DISCIPLINE MATTER, you are encouraged and welcome to make an appointment with BG Kennedy, Director of Student Support Services, (296-6640). If it is ANY MATTER OTHER THAN DISCIPLINE, you are encouraged and welcome to make an appointment with the appropriate director of schools located at the OP Johnson Board of Education Building in Kenansville. 5.Elementary and middle school concerns should be directed to Shawn Johnson,
Director of Elementary and Middle Grades Education (296-6621). High school concerns should be directed to Ben Thigpen, Director of Secondary Education. (296-6652) 6.If you remain unsatisfied, the next step is to make an appointment and meet with Assistant Superintendent for Academics and Administration, Cary Powers. (296-1521). If the issue is a personnel issue, it should be directed to James “Bo” Mullins, Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources and Operations (296-6624).
7.A concern remaining after meeting with the Assistant Superintendent may be addressed to Superintendent, Dr. Austin Obasohan. (296-6615)
8.Finally, the last step in the procedure is to go before the Board of
