Message from the Superintendent…

Thank you for visiting the Duplin County Schools’ website. Whether you are a parent, student, community member, employee or potential employee, we are excited and honored that you have taken an interest in Duplin County Schools.

Our vision at Duplin County Schools is to become an exemplary school system where all students and staff excel in a globally competitive society. Our mission is to work collaboratively with the community to prepare all students for career, college and life success. Our motto is “a unified approach to academic excellence.” 

We have many things to celebrate at Duplin County Schools including a long-standing partnership with James Sprunt Community College and other educational institutions and businesses.  We celebrate the fact that Duplin County Schools is implementing district-wide early college. Our family stands firmly committed to give every one of our children equal educational opportunities. We are determined to put the idea of college in the minds of children as early as prekindergarten, so that students strive for not only a high school diploma, but postsecondary education as well.  Exemplary employees, a well-diversed student population and district-wide STEAMA (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math and Agriculture) are just a few other things we celebrate and take pride in at Duplin County Schools. Finally, we celebrate superintendent advisory groups (i.e. teachers, students, parents, business/community leaders and faith-based advisory groups) that are second to none in terms of their leadership, guidance and support for our district vision and going the extra mile to do what is in the best interest of our students.

I believe wholeheartedly that each one of our children can achieve their dreams. As your humble servant, my promise to you is to work diligently with the entire community to prevent and/or eliminate any barriers that might block a child’s path to success. I pledge to stay focused on and be true to our vision, mission and motto to ensure a successful school experience for all children in Duplin County Schools. Together, our entire school community can make a positive difference in the lives of children.
