    Activity Description: Learners research information about the “Big Five” pathogens and create one page presentation (charts, etc.)


    Before Class: Familiarize yourself with the “Big Five” pathogens. You’ll find the necessary information on pages 2.5, 2.6, and 2.7 in the ServSafe Manager Book.

    ·      Salmonella Typhi.

    ·      Shigella spp.

    ·      E-Coli

    ·      Hepatitis A

    ·      Norovirus


    Create page that includes the Big 5 pathogens with the following information


    ·      Source of the pathogen

    ·      3 foods commonly linked with the pathogen

    ·      Measures that can be taken to prevent the pathogen from causing illness

    ·      Hyperlink to a story of an outbreak involving this pathogen
