--NC Cattlemen's Foundation Scholarship - The NC Cattlemen's Foundation is accepting applications for their scholarship program until January 15th. They will be awarding scholarships of up to $3,000 annually. Students should have an interest and/or career plans in agriculture, with additional recognition for students whose field of study is related to some area of agriculture, particularly the cattle industry. --Jack Kent Cooke College Scholarship - The Jack Kent Cooke College Scholarship seeks out underrepresented students of all races, backgrounds, and ethnicities through the PSAT/NMSQT. Scholarship - The purpose of the scholarship is to assist students in obtaining a degree at any NC college, in any field of study, with priority given to Family and Consumer Sciences. --Black Business Expo Scholarship Application - Scholarship is designed to help students who are interested in Technology, Entrepreneurship, Journalism, Hospitality, Public Relations, Marketing, Merchandising, and Advertising. Students who are selected for the scholarship could be awarded a laptop or up to $1000 toward their business pursuits. The ACT Student Champion Award recognizes one student in each state who is tenacious and persistent, no matter the challenge, and is prepared for life after high school with a goal in mind and a plan in place. ACT STudent Champions receive a $500 non-renewable scholarship, certificate, and state-level recognition. To apply, students should be a HS Senior who has overcome challenges and can articulate their education and/or career actions; have a composite score of 22 on the ACT or a Gold ACT WorkKeys National Career Readiness Certificate. Applications can be found at www.act.org/readinesschampions Applications are due October 31, 2018.--ECU Honors College - The deadline to apply to East Carolina University (including test scores and HS transcript) in order to receive an invitation to apply to the Honors College is Sunday, Nov 11, 2018. The deadline to apply to the Honors College, once invited, is Sunday, December 2, 2018. To learn more about ECU Honors College Program, you may visit the campus for Honors College Academic Day on Friday, November 2nd, or visit www.ecu.edu/admissions--NC A&T State University Cheatham-White Scholarship - This scholarship provides an outstanding educational experience for students who are exceptional scholars, versatile, and well-rounded individuals. To be eligible, a senior must be a US citizen or permanent resident, have a 4.0 GPA; have a minimum SAT score of 1280 or ACT score of 28; show exceptional qualities of character and leadership; be significantly involved in extracurricular activities; and demonstrate a strong commitment to service. Nominations must be turned in by November 15th, along with an application to NC A&T, and the Cheatham-White application must be submittted by December 15th.--Elon University Odyssey Program - The Elon University Odyssey Program is a merit-based program for academically strong, civically engaged students who display significant financial need. It is awarded to prospective members of the first-year student class at Elon. Bell, Jr Scholarship Program to encourage high potential students with limited financial resources to aspire to a college education. Counselors are allowed to nominate ONE seventh grader from his/her school as a potential Bell Scholarship recipient. Counselors must submit applications by November 2, 2018.--UNCG Guarantee - The UNCG Guarantee Scholarship combines federal and state grants in addition to funds from private gifts to help scholars graduate from UNC Greensboro in four years with little or no debt. The financial package covers the standard estimated cost of attendance based on financial need. This includes tuition and fees, standard on-campus housing and other educational expenses. Students must be a NC resident eligible for FAFSA, have a 3.5 weighted GPA, and a composite SAT score of 1030 or Composite ACT score of 20. December 1 is the Priority Deadline to submit an Eligibility Screening. Competitive applicants demonstrate high academic achievement, strong leadership qualities, involvement in extracurricular activities and civic engagement and an interest in textile-related careers. For scholarship consideration, students must have submitted a NCSU application by the October 15 deadline. If interested in endorsement, please speak to your high school counselor. Counselors must endorse by November 15.--Lenior Rhyne University Teaching Scholars Scholarship - Lenior Rhyne is currently recruiting exemplary high school seniors to receive this prestigious scholarship and develop the skills to become effective teacher leaders for our public schools. Fall 2019 applications are being accepted now. Priority consideration will be given to students applying by January 10, 2019. High school seniors should apply at edu.lr.edu/teachingscholars--QuestBridge - The 2018 QuestBridge National College Math for high school seniors is now open. The free,online application is due September 27, 2018. QuestBridge is a nationally recognized nonprofit that connects high-achieving, low-income students to full four-year scholarships at the nation's best colleges. Students should contact their school counselor if interested.--Gates Scholarship- Eligible students must be: A high school senior; from a minority ethnic group; Pell-eligible; A US citizen, national, or permanent resident; have a minimum GPA of 3.3. This year's winners from our school will compete for 100 scholarships, ranging from $500 to $5000, along with recognition at the state and national levels. Students will need to speak with school counselors about being referred.--GOODNIGHT SCHOLARS PROGRAM - The Goodnight Scholars Program is NCSU's premier scholarship program for low and middle income NC high school STEM students. It is a $20,000 scholarship per year and is renewable for up to four years for first year students. For more information, students can go to GOODNIGHT SCHOLARS Deadline to apply is January 15, 2019. Self nomination is open from Oct 15-Dec1!--THOMAS WOLFE SCHOLARSHIP - This is a program for gifted student writers interested in attending UNC-CH. The At Large Date closest to us is September 30th.--Horatio Alger Scholarship Application Information - The eligibility criteria include being enrolled as a full time high school senior interested in a bachelor's degree at an accredited non-profit public or private institution in the US, be in critical financial need ($55,000 or lower family income), involvement in community service activities, display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity, maintain a 2.0 GPA, and be a US Citizen.
