    • Academic: Scholarships based on academics, considering items such as student test scores, GPA, grades, etc.

      State scholarships are awarded to eligible students in all fifty states and the District of Columbia. The program specifically assists high school students who have faced and overcome great obstacles in their young lives. The scholarships are funded by Horatio Alger Members who, like the Scholars, have experienced challenges but ultimately overcame them to become successful business and civic leaders.To be eligible to apply for a Horatio Alger State Scholarship, applicants must be enrolled full time as a high school junior in the United States.

      The Career & Technical Scholarship Program is funded through the generosity of Horatio Alger Association Members, Dennis R. Washington and Jim F. Dicke II.  Scholarships are awarded to students who have faced and overcome great obstacles in their lives who wish to pursue a career or technical education at an accredited non-profit post-secondary institution in the United States. The Association offers several scholarship programs that either require an applicant to pursue a specific degree or attend a specific university. These specialized programs are funded through the generosity of individual Horatio Alger members.

      SME Education Foundation scholarships are funded by SME, by generous individuals, and by philanthropic organizations that share our goal of inspiring, preparing and supporting the next generation of manufacturing and engineering talent.     Automotive Women’s Alliance Foundation Scholarship (AWAF)

    The Automotive Women’s Alliance Foundation (AWAF) is an active professional foundation dedicated to supporting the advancement of automotive and mobility industry professionals.
    Scholarships are selected by the Scholarship Committee and awarded quarterly to the women with a quest and drive for the automotive, mobility and related industries.  It is our hope that with these scholarships, we can lessen the burden on students and allow them to focus on gaining knowledge and further development toward a solid career path in this ever-evolving expansion of global mobility.
    Scholarships are awarded to females with North American citizenship and a passion for a career or advancement in the automotive, mobility and its related industries. While AWAF members and family members are encouraged to apply for scholarships, we encourage applicants who are not affiliated with the organization to also apply.  To be eligible for a scholarship, applicants should be already accepted to or enrolled in an accredited collegiate program, with a 3.0 or higher GPA and a citizen within North America.

    The Stonewall Community Foundation aims to strengthen the LGBTQ movement by making smart, values-driven investments in dynamic organizations, projects, and leaders. The Traub-Dicker Rainbow Scholarship was established by Peggy Traub and Phyllis Dicker to encourage and support lesbian women in their pursuit of higher education. The program provides one-year scholarships of $1,500 or $3,000 to those graduating high school or already enrolled in college.

    The Point Foundation is the nation’s largest scholarship-granting organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer students of merit. Scholarship amounts vary. Applicants must work for the betterment of the LGBTQ community. Applicants must be enrolled full-time for the full academic year in a degree-granting undergraduate or graduate/doctoral program.

    The Advocates for African Americans Carolinas Scholarship (formerly named The African American Network) is a Duke Energy employee resource group that aims to develop growth opportunities for African American employees at Duke Energy.
    Scholarship applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and be a graduating senior at a North or South Carolina high school. Applicants must attend a four-year college or university in North or South Carolina, and they must plan to major in engineering, computer science, the sciences, accounting, finance, or business administration.

    Great Minds in STEM™ is the gateway for Hispanics in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). Scholarship applicants must be of Hispanic descent and/or must demonstrate significant leadership or service within the underserved community. Applicants must have an overall minimum GPA of 3.0 and must be pursuing a science, technology, engineering, or math degree.

    American Indian College Fund

    The American Indian College Fund provides scholarships to American Indian and Alaska Native college students. Applicants must be registered as an enrolled member of a federal- or state-recognized tribe; or a descendant of at least one grandparent or parent who is an enrolled tribal member. Applicants must be enrolled at an accredited tribal, public, or private (non-profit) college or university.The North Carolina Association of Educators Minority Affairs Commission established this scholarship in 1992. Applicants must be North Carolina residents enrolled in a public high school in their senior year. Criteria for selection include character, community involvement, and scholastic achievement (with a minimum 2.5 GPA).

    The Generation Google Scholarship was established to help aspiring students pursuing computer science degrees excel in technology and become leaders in the field. Selected students will receive $10,000.     U.S Army ROTC Scholarship

    U.S. Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) scholarships provide full financial assistance for college tuition and mandatory education fees (or room and board).  Additionally, scholarship winners receive tax free subsistence allowance for up to 10 months a year at a rate of $420.00 per month and $1200 annually for textbooks, classroom supplies, and equipment. Students does not have to be in high school JROTC to apply.


    Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation

    Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (Nrotc) College Scholarship

    This Scholarship Pays 100% of Tuition Costs, Either in State or out of State, for Four Years While a Student Completes Their Bachelor's Degree. After Receiving Eight Semesters of Tuition and a Monthly Stipend, Students Then Commission As Second Lieutenants in the Armed Services and Begin a Four Year Term of Active Duty Service.

    The Duplin County Education Foundation Awards Several Scholarships to Graduating Seniors in Duplin County Schools Each Year.     Trooper B.D. Wallace Memorial Foundation Scholarship

    The Master Trooper Benjamin Derek Wallace Memorial Foundation Is a Non-profit Organization Who Is Devoted to Honor the Memory of Trooper Wallace by Making a Difference in Our Community in Duplin County. Their Mission Is to Provide Financial Assistance by Way of Educational Scholarships to Deserving Students Who Have Been Identified As a Good Steward to Their Community. Two (2) Scholarships will be awarded to each Duplin High School in the amount of $1500.00  each. ($3000.00 per High School) 

    a) One (1) scholarship will be awarded in Criminal Justice ($1500.00).

    Marvin & Grace Johnson Poultry Science Scholarship Endowment (House of Raeford Farms Scholarship Hub)

    Several years ago, House of Raeford Farms established a $250,000 endowment scholarship fund for the Poultry Science Department at NC State University. Called the “Marvin and Grace Johnson Poultry Science Scholarship Endowment,” it awards one or more scholarships to students attending NC State who are majoring in poultry science.

    In addition, and in conjunction with our affiliates, we sponsor a scholarship program to support and encourage House of Raeford employees and contract farmers with dependent children and grandchildren who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school. Each scholarship is awarded for full-time or part-time study at an accredited institution of the student’s choice. Guidelines and application forms are available here.

    Finally, at a music academy in Rose Hill, NC, we provide scholarships for gifted young people in need. Children of some of our local Duplin County, NC employees have benefited from this opportunity.

    Workforce Development Regional Scholarships

    NC Association of School Resource Officer Scholarship

    The Betsy Y. Justus Nc Tech Founders Scholarship Was Established in Memory of Nc Tech's Founding Ceo. Following Her Passing, Nc Tech Launched a Scholarship to Support Young Women in North Carolina Who Pursue an Academic and Career Path in Technology or Engineering.  Every Year, Two Students Are Selected to Receive a $4,000 Scholarship ($1,000 per Year), and a Thinkpad Laptop Donated by Lenovo.  Nc Tech Accepts Applications During April and May Each Year.


    The Leslie Richardson Memorial Swan & Sparrow Scholarship

    The Leslie Richardson Memorial Swan & Sparrow Scholarship Fund provides scholarships to benefit students studying musical performance, jazz studies or choral conducting at a historically or predominantly black college or university (HBCU). Amount: $2,000.

    SECU Foundation established the People Helping People four-year scholarship program to help North Carolina public high school students attend college.
