    --AFA Teens Awareness College Scholarship - $5,000 - 71 Awards 
    To be eligible for the scholarship, a student must:
    A) Be a current high school senior who will be attending college in the fall of 2022.
    B) Write an essay (1,500 words maximum) describing the impact of Alzheimer's disease or another dementia-related illness on themselves, their families, or their communities.

    --Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Chi Iota Omega Chapter Scholarship - Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated-- Chi Iota Omega Chapter Scholarship is a $1,000.00 scholarship that will be awarded to graduating seniors at each of the Duplin County Public Schools high schools. Chi Iota Omega Chapter scholarships are available on a competitive basis in recognition of community involvement and academic excellence. Scholarship recipients should have a strong desire to succeed, as well as meet all of the requirements outlined below.  A complete application packet must be submitted in full for consideration.

    --American College Foundation Visionary Scholarship Program - Applicants must be currently enrolled as a high school freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior and but by a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen. Awards range from $1,000 to $5,000 each, with multiple winners to be selected. Each award is a non-renewable, one-time award and is to be used exclusively to offset costs and fees related directly to the student's first year of higher post-secondary education at an accredited institution of the student's choosing within the U.S.

    -- American Ground Water Trust College Scholarships - $2,000 - 3 Awards
    To be eligible for the scholarship, a student must:
    A) Be a current high school senior or college student who intends to pursue a career in the field of
    groundwater.

    --American Legion High School Oratorical Scholarship Program "A Constitutional Speech Contest" - The purpose of the American Legion High School Oratorical Scholarship Program is to develop a deeper knowledge and appreciation of the Constitution of the United States among high school students. Other objectives of the contest include the development of leadership qualities, the ability to think and speak clearly and intelligently, and the preparation for acceptance of the duties and responsibilities, rights, and privileges of American citizenship.

    --ASHRAE High School Senior Scholarships - $3,000 - 4 Awards
    To be eligible for the scholarship, a student must:
    A) Be a high school senior with a cumulative grade point Average (GPA) of at least 3.0.
    B) Be accepted into engineering, pre-engineering, or engineering technology program.

    -- Beyond the Cure Ambassador Scholarship - $3,500 - 58 Awards
    To be eligible for the scholarship a student must:
    A) Be accepted into a post-secondary school for the fall semester of the upcoming academic year.
    B) Be diagnosed before the age of 18 with cancer, a high-grade, or anaplastic brain tumor.

    --Folds of Honor Scholarship- $5000- 100 Awards 
    To be eligible for the scholarship, a student must:
    • Be a family member of US military personnel or a military veteran

     --Big Top Couture - 1st Annual High School Design Competition: Are you interested in fashion and design? There will be a competition for young designers in the summer of 2022 in Clinton, NC and Duplin County students are invited to take part. Students must be between the ages of 14-21. The event will bring together young designers and seasoned vets to highlight the talent and passion for fashion in a very unique and friendly environment.     --Careers in Conservation Scholarship - The NC Foundation for Soil & Water is pleased to announce the Careers in Conservation Scholarship. This opportunity is available for students that are currently studying or plan to seek a degree in natural resource management (or closely related field of study) at a NC college, university, or community college.

    --Coca Cola Scholarship Program - The Coca-Cola Scholars Program scholarship is an achievement-based scholarship awarded to graduating high school seniors. Students are recognized for their capacity to lead and serve, as well as their commitment to making a significant impact on their schools and communities. With the 33rd class in 2021, the Foundation has provided over 6,450 Coca-Cola Scholars with more than $75 million in educational support. 150 Coca-Cola Scholars are selected each year to receive this $20,000 scholarship.

    --(CTE) John Kirkman Honorary CTE Foundation Scholarship ($1500) - The NC CTE Foundation is honored to sponsor the John Kirkman Honorary CTE Foundation Scholarship. Mr. Kirkman served NC Career & Technical Education for over thirty years. Throughout his tenure in CTE, Mr. Kirkman served as a middle school and high school Agriculture teacher, CTE Director for Lee County Schools, CTE Regional Coordinator and Interim State CTE Director. His dedication and love for CTE led to many contributions that have positively impacted thousands of students, teachers and administrators across the state.     --(CTE) LeeAnn Tuttle-Thomas Memorial CTE Foundation Scholarship ($1,500) - The NC CTE Foundation is honored to sponsor the LeeAnn Tuttle-Thomas Memorial CTE Foundation Scholarship. LeeAnn Tuttle-Thomas served as a business education teacher, Curriculum & Instructional Mgt. Coordinator and Career & Technical Education Director during her tenure with the Davidson County School System. While serving as the NCACTEA president, LeeAnn mentored and led the CTE Administrators in NC. Her commitment to education and her passion for students was evident in everything she did.     --Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Endowment Fund Gift Scholarships - Each year the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) awards multiple scholarships to students showing dedication to the pursuit of higher education in diverse areas of study including history, economics, law, political science, medicine, nursing, occupational and physical therapy, elementary and secondary education, chemistry, math, science and English.

    --Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Duplin County Alumnae Chapter ($500 - 3 scholarships):

    Criteria for Eligibility:   

    1. Must be a male.

    2. Must be a senior in the Duplin County School System and/or Pender High School/Pender Early College districts

    3. Planning to attend a college or university upon graduation

    4. Currently, maintains a GPA of 2.75 or above.

    STIPULATIONS: 

    1. A brief synopsis of who you are and your attributes (personal, school, and community). This synopsis is not counted in the essay word count.

    2. An answer to the essay question will have to be written in order to complete the process.  The essay must be typed and double spaced with 500 to 650 words. 

    3.  The packet must contain your certified transcript and a photo.

    4. You will mail the packet to the Duplin County Alumnae Chapter, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., P.O. Box 762, Kenansville, N.C. 28398. The packet must be postmarked by March 31, 2021.

    --Duplin County Education Foundation Scholarships - The Duplin County Education Foundation awards several scholarships to graduating seniors in Duplin County Schools each year. The scholarship awards will be given at the High Schools' local academic celebrations for seniors.  All student applicants are asked to be present at the celebration.  Please read each scholarship that you are applying for to guarantee that you submit all that is required to make an application complete. Recommendations must be given to counselors ahead of time. Incomplete scholarships will not be considered.     --Duplin County Schools Presidential Scholars Program - Duplin County Schools has a district process to review and nominate students to move to the state level of the presidential scholar's program. There are two categories that our school system is allowed to nominate a student for in order to be considered for state nomination to the national level. Our county can nominate one student in the general category and one student in the CTE category. Each local school will be able to select one student per category. All high school seniors graduating between January and June 2022, who are U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents are eligible to be nominated. IF A STUDENT IS INTERESTED IN BEING NOMINATED, HE/SHE MUST SPEAK TO THEIR SCHOOL COUNSELOR FOR THE SCHOOL GUIDELINES.

    --Frances Loretta Memorial Scholarship - $1,000 – 1 Award
    To be eligible for the scholarship, a student must:
    A) Be a high school senior who is planning to pursue a career as an art, music, or humanities teacher.

    --Gates Scholarship - The Gates Scholarship (TGS) is a highly selective, last-dollar scholarship for outstanding, minority, high school seniors from low-income households. Each year, the scholarship is awarded to 300 of these student leaders across the nation, with the intent of helping them realize their maximum potential.

    To be eligible for the scholarship, a student must:

    --Golden Leaf Scholarship - The Golden Leaf Scholarship Program offers assistance to help students succeed in college and beyond. In addition to their financial award, Golden LEAF Scholars may participate in leadership development opportunities and gain key workforce skills through internship experience. Students must be a NC resident, reside in a qualifying rural NC county (Duplin is one of them), be a graduating NC high school senior, have a minimum 2.5 GPA, plan to enroll in a participating NC public or private college, have their FAFSA completed, and be able to communicate a commitment to returning to a rural NC county after graduation from college.

    --Goodnight Scholars Program Self-Nomination through NCSU - The self-nomination for The Goodnight Scholars Program through NCSU is now open. To qualify, students must have applied to NCSU by the November 1 deadline, be a NC resident (includes DACA and undocumented students), have an adjusted income of $110,000 or less, and identify one of the 53 majors as an area of interest on their NCSU application.

    --Grow Your Own Duplin County Minority Teachers Scholarship ($5,000 annually for 4 years) - The Duplin County Board of Education has established the Duplin County Minority Teachers Scholarship – Loan. The scholarship provides five graduating seniors who plan to pursue a career as a teacher $5,000.00 per year, for a maximum of four years. Seniors with an unweighted GPA of 3.0 graduating from one of the Duplin County high schools must be a current resident of Duplin County who plans to enroll in a community college or university in the fall.  Each application must include the following:
    • A completed application form
    • An official high school transcript
    • Verification of SAT/ACT
    • A valid letter of acceptance from a community college or university
    • Two completed Reference Forms from persons who can assess the applicant’s potential capacity as a future teacher

    --Intertech Foundation STEM Scholarship - $2,500 - 1 Award 
    To be eligible for the scholarship, a student must:
    A) Have a cumulative high school GPA of 3.3 or higher with an intent to study computer science.
    B) Be graduating high school in the spring of 2022 and enrolling at or accepted to an accredited college or
    university within the US by the end of August 2022.

    --James Sprunt Foundation Scholarships - Are you planning to attend JSCC for the Fall 2022 semester? Students can fill out one application for all scholarships. Be sure to answer ALL questions.     --Lenoir Rhyne University Teaching Scholars Program - Lenoir Rhyne is currently recruiting exemplary high school seniors to receive this prestigious scholarship and develop the skills to become effective teacher leaders for public schools. Fall 2022 applications are being accepted now.

    --Mike Shrimanker Family Scholarship - The Mike Shrimanker Family Scholarship Qualification Criteria include: One $2,000.00 scholarship will be provided to each of the five Duplin County High Schools in the 2021-2022 school year; The recipients will receive $1,000.00 in the first year (2022-2023), and another $1,000.00 (2023-2024) in year two if they maintain a 2.5 or higher GPA by the end of their first year in college; Recipients should attend a post-secondary institution; Students must have a high school 3.0 weighted GPA or higher to apply; Students should demonstrate financial need as demonstrated by their FAFSA score and have the recommendation of the school’s scholarship committee.

    --NAACP of Duplin County Scholarship 2022 - The 2022 NAACP Of Duplin County Scholarships are now available in the amount of $500 to eligible high school seniors. One scholarship is available for each of the five high schools in Duplin County. To be eligible, students should be a senior at a Duplin County High School, plan to enroll as a full-time student at an accredited 4-year or 2-year college/university working toward a Bachelor or Associate Degree, and students should be a current member of the Duplin County NAACP Branch or Youth Council.

    --National Beta Scholarship Program - In order to access the application, members will need to input their Member ID, which can be found on their Membership Card they received at their Induction Ceremony. Sponsors can also check their Member Roster for ID#s. To apply for scholarships, members must upload a copy of their ACT or SAT scores as well as a copy of their transcript.

    --Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps Scholarship Opportunity (NROTC) - Applicants may apply for one of the following options: Navy, Marine Corps, Nurse Corps. There is a five year active duty for the Navy and Marine Corps option and a four year active duty obligation for the nurse corps option. There is no military obligation the first year of college. 
     
    --Nitro Scholarship - $2,000 - 12 Awards 
    To be eligible for the scholarship, a student must:
    A) Be a student who is currently enrolled as a high school senior, or a student enrolled at an accredited college
    or university located within the United States and carrying a GPA of at least 2.5.

    --NC Tech Assn. Scholarship - The Betsy Y. Justus NC TECH Founders Scholarship was established in memory of NC TECH's founding CEO. Following her passing, NC TECH launched a scholarship to support young women in North Carolina who pursue an academic and career path in Technology or Engineering.  Every year, two students are selected to receive a $4,000 scholarship ($1,000 per year), and a ThinkPad laptop donated by Lenovo.  NC TECH accepts applications during April and May each year. To be eligible, students must be a rising female college freshman, re-entry or transfer student, enrolling for undergraduate course work at an accredited institution of higher learning located in NC.  Students must also qualify for North Carolina resident status for tuition purposes, have a umulative grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. (unweighted), and must declare a technology or engineering major.

    --NCSU Transformation Educational Scholarship Program - The Transformational Scholarships Program will provide scholarships totaling $40,000 over four years to promising high school students from Eastern North Carolina who will return to the region to teach after graduating from NC State’s College of Education. Launched in summer 2021 thanks to a generous charitable grant from the Anonymous Trust, the program will welcome its first cohort of 20 Transformational Scholars in fall 2022.

    --NCSU Wilson College of Textiles Scholarship Endorsement - The Textiles Scholarship Program is designed for students who are interested in career fields such as engineering, business management, design, chemistry, polymers, forensics, medical fields, fashion merchandising and retail management. Competitive applicants demonstrate high academic achievement, strong leadership qualities, involvement in extracurricular activities and civic engagement and an interest in textile-related careers. Students can see their school counselor for endorsement information or can self-endorse.

    --North Carolina Blueberry Festival Scholarship (5 @ $2,000) - Students must reside in one of the eligible counties, including Duplin, must write and submit an essay on the provided topics, provide an academic resume, and be accepted into an accredited two or four year college/university under full time enrollment. Pursuit of a degree in an agricultural field of study is NOT required this year.

    --North Carolina Criminal Justice Fellows Program - The NC Dept. of Justice is looking for high school seniors and graduates in our community that have exhibited high academic achievement, a history of service to the school and community, and a desire to serve the state of N.C. in an eligible field within the criminal justice profession. High School seniors are encouraged to apply.

    --North Carolina High School Athletic Assn. (NCHSAA) Endowed Scholarships - Thanks to the generosity of numerous donors, the NCHSAA Endowment Fund offers numerous scholarships to eligible student-athletes of NCHSAa member schools. 
     
    --North Carolina Region Sports Car Club of America (NCRSCCA) ScholarshipA $1,000 scholarship is available from the North Carolina Region Sports Car Club of America. The NCRSCCA was founded in 1955 and has 750+ members.  Our scholarship mission statement:  The NCRSCCA membership are strong supporters of our youth and their future. It is the wish of the Individuals and Companies that donate funds, that their contributions to the program provide financial assistance to graduating high school seniors who reside within the NCR geographical area (SCCA membership not required) or SCCA Region 55 members living outside of the NCR geographical area. Students who receive an award will be selected from those who have submitted an application to NCRSCCA-SP.

    --North Carolina State Employee Credit Union (NCSECU) "People Helping People" Scholarship - Eligibility Criteria: Students must be graduating from a public high school in the current academic year; Students and/or their parents must be current members of State Employees’ Credit Union (Local Government Federal Credit Union or NC Press Association Credit Union members are NOT eligible); Students must be accepted at and attend one of the 16 constituent campuses of the University of North Carolina System; Students must be a US citizen and a resident of North Carolina under NCGS116-143.1, and  eligible for in-state tuition; Students must exemplify the “People Helping People” philosophy of SECU and demonstrate leadership, excellence of character, integrity, and community involvement; Students must demonstrate scholastic achievement with a maintained 2.5 or higher unweighted GPA on a 4.0 scale

    --Patriot Military Family Foundation Scholarship -  North Carolina service members and their families are eligible for four-year scholarships offered in partnership with the We Care Foundation. Recipients must attend a North Carolina State college or university.

    --Patsy Howard Memorial Scholarship 2022 ($500) - The Patsy Howard Memorial Scholarship is open to any Duplin or Pender County female student. A one time scholarship (non-renewable) will be awarded. Students must have a minimum SAT score of 900 or ACT score of 20; plan to enter any field of teacher education; have participated in extracurricular activities and/or work experience; have currently submitted an application to a college of your choice.

    --Swan & Sparrow Music ScholarshipThe Swan & Sparrow Scholarship was created in memory of Leslie Richardson, a classically-trained songstress who performed for audiences across the world for decades. She studied at Howard University and always said that this experience was the catalyst for her musical success. So, in her honor, this scholarship was founded to help others to have the same opportunity. We created this program to help the next generation of music lovers to succeed in the same way as Leslie did. Our scholarship is $3000 and is available to a freshman who is attending a historically black college or university.

    --UNC CH Thomas Wolfe Scholarship - We are pleased to announce that The Thomas Wolfe Scholarship (plus summer stipends) is beginning its twenty-first year at Carolina. Our scholarship for full undergraduate support for student writers will open its twenty-first submission period as follows: The Thomas Wolfe Scholarship will receive applications beginning September 13th 2021. 
    Deadline to apply: Our Thomas Wolfe Scholarship application process involves two (2) steps: Step 1) an application to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill by October 15th, 2021; and, Step 2) an application to the Thomas Wolfe Scholarship by November 15th, 2021.     --University of Mount Olive Homegrown Teacher Academy Application - The Homegrown Teacher Academy's purpose is to promote seamless entry into UMO's teacher education degree programs and offer financial incentives to identified students to pursue a career by reducing the amount of student loans through academic scholarships from UMO and through special teacher grants through the Academy that would be forgiven over time in exchange for successful service as a teacher in Duplin County Public Schools.     --Veterans of Foreign Wars Scholarship Program - Each year the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 9810 of Warsaw, NC and its Auxiliary offers annual scholarship programs for students in our local school district.
