Starting at age 3, any child who exhibits non-developmental speech/language delays can be evaluated and possibly receive speech treatment through the school system.  This evaluation and treatment is at no cost to families.  If you have concerns regarding your child's speech and language you can make a referral for an evaluation.

Upon eligibility determination, an Individualized Education Program (IEP) is developed for each child outlining the services required to meet the child’s special education needs.

If you feel that your child is in need of special education services and you would like to make a referral, please complete the attached form and email or fax to Tammie Lambeth.  If your child has been evaluated or screened, those reports can be faxed or emailed to Kendra Jones, 910-298-3346; email: kjones@duplinschools.net to help with the referral process.  Duplin County Schools will conduct screenings and/or evaluations necessary to determine eligibility at no cost to the family.
