    How to become a substitute teacher in Duplin County Schools
    1.  Applications and all required documents must be submitted at a school within the district.  All applicants must create an account in our online application system, called PeopleAdmin.    To apply, an applicant must apply to the Generic Substitute Posting located on the Duplin County Schools Job Board and provide verification of completion of Effective Teacher Training, Copy of High School Transcript, Proof of Identification, TB Skin Test, teacher license (if licensed), tax form, personal information, and information to conduct a Criminal Background Check.  Please visit our Employment Opportunities webpage or click here for more information.  You may also contact Kim Matthis, Senior Human Resources Office Manager at 910 296-6626.
    2.  Each month, applicants will be submitted by each school for approval by Board of Education members.
    3.  In additional to Board of Education approval, the applicant must complete a substitute orientation provided by the Human Resources Department.
    4.  Once applicants have completed these two requirements, their name will be released to the schools as approved substitutes for Duplin County Schools and a letter will be sent from the Human Resources Department.

     Substitute orientation will be offered on the dates listed below.
    Substitute Orientation will be virtual until futher notice and will begin promptly at 9:000am. You will need to contract Kim Matthis in the Human Resources Office at 910 296-6626 to register for the training.  An invitation will be sent to attendees via email prior to the orientation date.
