    5/26/2020- Yay!  Last week of school!  What a crazy year, but I am so proud of your continued effort!  Report cards will be mailed this week.  Teachers will be packing up any of the students personal belongings in bags so they can be claimed when it is safe to do so.  I hope you all have a wonderful summer!  Keep reading and practincing your math skills! Also, continue to use the links that I have provided and other teachers have provided for summer learning fun!  Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns!

    This announcement is for Students who have medications at school.  
    Medications can be picked up on Thursday 5/21/2020 from 11-3 in the front circle from the school nurse.  No one will be allowed to enter the building and must remain in their vehicles.  The nurse will meet them curbside to return medicines to them.  
    5/11/2020-  Happy Mother's Day to all the moms!  Hope you had a great day!  Mrs. Amy and I have enjoyed hearing about how you are doing and what you are working on during our calls. Please continue woking on your math and reading daily!  Just in case you have internet issues, there is free drive-up WiFi available at various spots in Duplin County. Beulaville Town Hall and EDHS are probably the closer ones. Check the Duplin County Schools website for other locations. Please keep checking your teacher's websites for assignments and information. Have a great week and please let me know if you have any questions!   
    5/4/2020-  May is here!  I hope all of you had a wonderful weekend!  Homeroom teachers will be contacting parents this week to give you updates on report cards.  Please be expecting a call.  I will also continue contacting you to answer any questions and to provide any support that I can.  Please continue to explore and use the educational links and activities that have been provided.  
     4/29/2020-  Hello!  I have missed seeing my students each day!  It has been great to talk to many of my parents and some of my students and to hear that you are working on reading and math!  I am adding some more education links that are good resources and provide games to assist with your learning!  I also have spoken with several of you about specific activities that you can do at home to continue progressing on your IEP goals.  Please continue those activites!  Have a great week and be sure to play outside some and enjoy this beautiful weather we are having!

     Please make sure to check the DCS website for awesome Learning links. Also, classroom teachers will be sending links for at-home learning.

    Tips for daily learning activites:

    * Read aloud with your child at least 30 minutes a day on their level.

    * Ask your child who, what, when, where, why, and how questions regarding text read together.

    * Practice writing sentences giving topics of interest of your child. (If they love cats, write about cats.)

    * Write a letter to a friend or family member!!

    * Practice telling time, counting money, using calendars, additon, subtraction, mulitplication, and division.

    * Play together, inside or outside, practicing conversation and sharing.

    * Play a board game or card game using rules.

    * Engage in pretend/imaginative play with your child....Oh the places YOU can go! :))

    * Have fun with your child! Learning is FUN!
