College and Career Liaison/Curriculum Specialist
Amy Powers is excited to support the efforts in preparing students for college, career, and life. As College and Career Liaison, much of her work will be centered around college/career awareness, readiness, and access. After examining and analyzing college-readiness assessment data (i.e. PLAN, PSAT, SAT, & ACT), Ms. Powers will work closely with guidance, administration, teachers, students, and parents to advise students in their post-secondary plans.
Taylor Springs is part of the College Advising Corps--an organization that aims to increase the number of students who apply, enter, and complete college---and thrilled to be a Bull dog! She is ready to extend educational opportunities to all students in the State of North Carolina. Ms. Springs will work with students, teachers, guidance, administration, parents, and the overall community to create a college going culture. This will be in the form of hosting college related workshops, encouraging ALL seniors to apply to college, assisting in college applications, participating in college fairs, going on campus tours, FAFSA, and more. Ms. Springs believes that every student has the potential to further their education post graduation!
