Students were entertained and educated about the principles of gravity, leverage, fulcrums and simple machines by Garry Krinsky, Toying with Science today at a schoolwide STEAMA field trip.
STEAMA Day 11/4 was a big success! The entire school was privileged to participate in the Game Day Cardboard Challenge on STEAMA day. Students in 7th and 8th grade worked with Ms. Anne Haugh and Mrs. Nina Gail Lanier to create "cardboard" games for students in grades K-8 to play. The creators and participants had a blast!
Mrs. Ann took students on a Listening Walk as part of their introduction to the Sound Unit of Study. Students sat quietly, closed their eyes and listened. They would then document whatever they heard using words or pictures.
Mrs. Becher wrote a Bright Ideas grant for Bench Buddies. This will place benches in our courtyard, and students may choose to sit on a bench that needs a friend that day. Some days we all need a friend. What an awesome way to build community! Go, Mrs. Becher!
School Resource Officer William Sandlin loves his school. Every day he is walking the halls, talking with students and teachers, and doing what it takes to keep our school safe. He's always willing to lend a helping hand to make our school a little brighter, a little more inviting for students, staff, and the community. Thank you, Officer Sandlin for all you do!
