Monarch Bioenergy Scholarship
Monarch Bioenergy is a Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) company, who specializes in capturing and creating renewable natural gas from methane emissions found in normal farming practices. Our scholarships are for outstanding Duplin County High School Seniors and can be used at any four-year private or public college/university, community college, or trade school. The scholarships are intended for students who wish to enter the clean energy or agricultural sector, but we encourage all areas of studies and majors to apply.

***Duplin County Education Foundation Scholarships-
The Duplin County Education Foundation awards scholarships to graduating seniors in Duplin County Schools each year. The deadline for scholarship applications is announced annually by the school counselor. The scholarship deadline for the 25-26 school year is January 23, 2026. The scholarship awards are presented at each high schools' local academic celebration for seniors. All student applicants are asked to be present at the celebration. Please follow the links below for a list of scholarships available for your school. Please note the information and requirements for each individual scholarship for which you would like to apply to ensure that you meet the specific qualifications and submit a complete application. The “People Helping People” SECU Scholarship Is a four-year Scholarship Program designed to mimic its belief in “People Helping People” by providing North Carolina Public High School students with scholarships to attend college. Duplin County Schools will be receiving three SECU “People Helping People” Scholarships in the 2025-2026 School Year to be distributed within our school district. The SECU Scholarship not only recognizes academic achievement, but also focuses on recognizing Leadership, Integrity, and Community Involvement. Duplin Health Science Academy Scholarship
The Scholarship Will Be Awarded to Seniors in the Duplin Health Science Academy Who Plan to Attend a 4 Year College/University or a 2 Year Community College to Pursue a Health Science Degree. the Scholarship Amount Is $500 and Will Be Awarded to One Eligible HSA Graduating Senior in Duplin County. Applicants will be evaluated using the official HSA Scholarship Rubric, which prioritizes leadership, engagement, and preparation for a healthcare profession.

NC Tech Betsy Y. Justus Founders Scholarship

The Betsy Y. Justus NC TECH Founders Scholarship was established in memory of NC TECH's founding CEO. Following her passing in the summer of 2011, NC TECH launched a scholarship based on her wishes to support young women in North Carolina who are pursuing an academic and career path in the areas of Technology or Engineering. Every year, two students are selected to receive a scholarship of $1,000 per year ($4,000 for a four-year school, $2,000 for a two-year associate's degree) and a Lenovo laptop.
NC TECH opens the application in January and accepts submissions through April 15. Students are notified of awards by May 1.

The Levine Scholars Program seeks outstanding high school seniors who are eager to embark on a transformative college experience. Note: Students must be admitted to UNC Charlotte to receive a Levine Scholarship. Students must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents, demonstrate a commitment to community service, hold an academic record that reflects a sustained passion for knowledge, and possess a capacity for ethical leadership that elevates fellow students to a higher standard. Students can self-nominate or must be nominated by a school staff member.
East Carolina University EC Scholars Program (Brinkley Lane)

The Brinkley-Lane Scholars Award is the most prestigious scholarship offered at ECU. Students wishing to be considered for the Brinkley-Lane Scholars Scholars Award will first need to be accepted into the Honors College. Admission to the Honors College at East Carolina University is competitive and by invitation only. Students will need to meet minimum eligibility criteria to receive an invitation to apply by submitting a completed application for undergraduate admission to ECU by the priority deadline of October 20th.
Cheatham-White Scholarship (NC A&T and NC Central)

The Cheatham-White scholarship covers full tuition and fees, housing, meals, textbooks, a laptop, travel, and personal expenses. To be eligible, applicants must satisfy the following criteria:

Gates Scholarship

The Gates Scholarship (TGS) is a highly selective, last-dollar scholarship for outstanding, minority, high school seniors from low-income households. Scholars will receive funding for the full cost of attendance* that is not already covered by other financial aid and the expected family contribution, as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), or the methodology used by a Scholar’s college or university. Cost of attendance includes tuition, fees, room, board, books, and transportation, and may include other personal costs. In order to be eligible to apply to the National College Match in the fall of 2025, applicants must graduate from high school during or before the summer of 2026 and plan to enroll as a first-year student in college in the fall of 2026. Any high school senior, regardless of citizenship, currently attending high school in the U.S. is eligible for the National College Match. Additionally, U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents living abroad are eligible. Students attending high school in the U.S. as undocumented or international students are eligible to apply, but should review the Additional Citizenship Requirements to see which QuestBridge college partners will consider them for the Match Scholarship.

Elks National Foundation Scholarship

Since 1931, the Elks National Foundation has helped students recognize their academic dreams. Each year, we award more than $3 million in college scholarships to at least 850 outstanding, service-minded high school seniors. Applicants will be judged on scholarship, leadership, and financial need. Will award 500 four-year scholarships to the highest-rated applicants in the 2024 competition. Ranging from $1,000 per year to $12,500 per year, Most Valuable Student scholarships are for students pursuing a four-year degree, on a full-time basis (minimum of 12 semester hours), in a U.S. college or university. All scholarships are in the form of certificates of award conditional upon the full-time enrollment of the winner in an accredited U.S. college or university.
Horatio Alger State Scholarship

State scholarships are awarded to eligible students in all fifty states and the District of Columbia. The program specifically assists high school students who have faced and overcome great obstacles in their young lives. The scholarships are funded by Horatio Alger Members who, like the Scholars, have experienced challenges but ultimately overcame them to become successful business and civic leaders.
To be eligible to apply for a Horatio Alger State Scholarship, applicants must be enrolled full time as a high school junior in the United States.

The Career & Technical Scholarship Program is funded through the generosity of Horatio Alger Association Members, Dennis R. Washington and Jim F. Dicke II. Scholarships are awarded to students who have faced and overcome great obstacles in their lives who wish to pursue a career or technical education at an accredited non-profit post-secondary institution in the United States. The Association offers several scholarship programs that either require an applicant to pursue a specific degree or attend a specific university. These specialized programs are funded through the generosity of individual Horatio Alger members.

The Cooke College Scholarship Program is an undergraduate scholarship program available to high-achieving high school seniors with financial need who seek to attend and graduate from the nation's top four-year colleges and universities. Applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:
Senior standing – Plan to graduate from a U.S. high school in spring 2024.
Fall College Enrollment – Intend to enroll in an accredited four-year college beginning in fall 2024.
GPA – Earn a minimum, cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.5 or above.
Demonstrate Unmet Financial Need – We will consider applicants with a maximum annual gross income of $95,000. Last year’s cohort of new College Scholarship recipients had a median family income of approximately $34,000. During the selection process, the Foundation will conduct a full financial review which will take into account all income and assets of the student and the student’s parents.

SME Education Foundation scholarships are funded by SME, by generous individuals, and by philanthropic organizations that share our goal of inspiring, preparing and supporting the next generation of manufacturing and engineering talent. The purpose of the NAFEPA scholarship program is to promote student access to a variety of post-secondary educational opportunities and mitigate factors that might inhibit students from pursuing their career and life goals. The Automotive Women’s Alliance Foundation (AWAF) is an active professional foundation dedicated to supporting the advancement of automotive and mobility industry professionals.
Scholarships are selected by the Scholarship Committee and awarded quarterly to the women with a quest and drive for the automotive, mobility and related industries. It is our hope that with these scholarships, we can lessen the burden on students and allow them to focus on gaining knowledge and further development toward a solid career path in this ever-evolving expansion of global mobility.

The Point Foundation is the nation’s largest scholarship-granting organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer students of merit. Scholarship amounts vary. The Advocates for African Americans Carolinas Scholarship (formerly named The African American Network) is a Duke Energy employee resource group that aims to develop growth opportunities for African American employees at Duke Energy.
Scholarship applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and be a graduating senior at a North or South Carolina high school. Applicants must attend a four-year college or university in North or South Carolina, and they must plan to major in engineering, computer science, the sciences, accounting, finance, or business administration.
MPOWER Women in STEM Scholarship

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship

The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Scholarship was established in 1992 by the North Carolina Association of Educators Minority Affairs Commission under the auspices of the Human and Civil Rights Commission. It continues in partnership with the North Carolina Foundation for Public School Children. Scholarship awards are based on the amount of money received annually through donations and the Martin Luther King Jr events. Applicants must be North Carolina residents enrolled in a public high school in their senior year. Criteria for selection include character, community involvement, and scholastic achievement (minimum 2.5 GPA).
American Indian College Fund

The American Indian College Fund provides scholarships to American Indian and Alaska Native college students. Applicants must be registered as an enrolled member of a federal- or state-recognized tribe; or a descendant of at least one grandparent or parent who is an enrolled tribal member. Applicants must be enrolled at an accredited tribal, public, or private (non-profit) college or university.The North Carolina Association of Educators Minority Affairs Commission established this scholarship in 1992. Applicants must be North Carolina residents enrolled in a public high school in their senior year. North Carolina Hispanic College Fund

The North Carolina Society of Hispanic Professionals established the North Carolina Hispanic College Fund (NCHCF) to benefit Hispanic students in North Carolina. The NCHCF awards annual scholarships worth between $500 and $3,000. Scholarship recipients must be of Hispanic/Latino background. They must enroll in a degree program at a community college or a two- or four-year college/university and be committed to public service and community development.

The Golden LEAF Community College Scholarship provides scholarships of up to $2,250 annually to curriculum students and up to $1850 annually to workforce continuing education students.
