"To be or not to be...that is the question."
That's too cliche for the High School English/Language Arts teacher to start within their description, right?
I think I'll make it simple. Here at Duplin County's Center of Opportunity, I count it a privilege to create the best possible learning environment for our select group of students while properly intertwining all aspects of the curriculum with STEAMA topics. I received my bachelor's in Arts degree in English with a concentration in Literature and a minor in Creative Writing with a concentration in Poetry from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. I received my Teacher's Certification from East Carolina University while working as an ILT for Duplin County Schools.
I have two special English teachers that inspired my lifelong love of reading and writing. I love spending my free time reading or writing. I love working on my blog and am also a published poet. I love spending time with my family, collecting comic books and vintage toys, and antique-thrift shopping. I have an eclectic taste in music and a love for the arts, awakened by a brilliant art teacher, Dave Sanderson, whom I was blessed to have during my four years at Wallace-Rose Hill High School. I love working at the Center of Opportunity because I believe the students who come to us deserve the respect I would want a teacher to treat my child/children. I also enjoy seeing a student who has never been able to grasp a concept before thrive and excel. My teaching statement: I believe that it is my duty as an educator to provide the best education that I possibly can to/for my students, despite the environment and/or situations in which we might find ourselves. Here are some fun things to visit:
Do you maybe want to see some examples of the fun lesson plans that you can experience in my classroom?
