TA to Teacher

The TAs to Teachers program encourages Teaching Assistants to pursue teaching licenses either full-time or part-time through financial assistance and academic leave opportunities.

Through the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, DCS may grant TAs academic leave to pursue their teaching license. Each school board may apply to award TAs as much as $4,600 each per year toward the cost of tuition at an accredited institution of higher education in North Carolina with an educator preparation program approved by the State Board of Education to pursue teacher licensure.
