Intern & Field Experience Placement
Process for Field Experience and
Internship Placements
1. The university/college will contact the Employee Relations and Recruitment Services Coordinator to request placement. All placement requests must be in writing and approved by the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources.
2. Once placement has been secured at a school, the university/college will receive an email verification from Human Resources.
3. At the beginning of each semester, a required Intern Orientation will be held for any student completing his/her full-time student teaching in Duplin County Schools. The Human Resources will notify the student well in advance.
4. Duplin County Schools will conduct a criminal background check on all students completing an internship or field experience. The criminal background check report must be approved by the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources before beginning internship/field experience. The Human Resources Office will notify the student when the background check is approved, and he/she may begin his/her internship/field experience. (Information to run background check is collected at the Intern Orientation or sent to students electronically.)
For questions regarding field experience/intern placement, please contact Sylvia Draughn, Human Resources Support at 910 295-1521. Duplin County Schools values our university/college partnership and looks forward to working with you.
