Conquistador Assignment
Instructions:
1. Students will read the Conquistadors (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. article and then open the Conquistadors (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. website.
2. Students will choose one person from the website to learn more about (Cortés, Pizarro, Cabeza de Vaca, Orellana). Using the toolbars on the left-hand side of the screen, they will click on the name of the conquistador desired and begin to learn more about that conquistador and the Native tribes he encountered.
3. Once students have chosen an explorer, they should open the document link below with the name of the explorer chosen to learn about.4. Once completed, click the "submit assignment" button and then link the document from Google Drive in the website URL option. Click the "submit assignment" button when finished. *Note: For full credit, make sure all rubric requirements are met.*
This activity will be 35 points.

After reading the article, watch this brief Nat. Geo. video that highlights possible theories of what may have happened to the settlers at Roanoke.
After reviewing the happenings at Roanoke it is time for your group to decide who you would take, and begin the workings of setting up your own colony! Plan wisely! This is not an easy task!
