     English as a Second Language
Welcome to ESL with Mrs. Cooke!

    Amy Cooke

Hello!  My name is Amy Cooke and I teach English as a Second Language. This is my 28th year of teaching the wonderful students of Duplin County!  I was raised in Warsaw, North Carolina and currently live in Kenansville. I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 1990 with a degree in Elementary Education.  I added my ESL certification in 2010.  I am happily married and have two wonderful children, Meredith and Spencer.  Meredith is a second year dental student at UNC.  Spencer is a graduate student at NCSU.  One of my favorite things to do is travel.  I enjoy experiencing other cultures and seeing the beautiful places this world has to offer.
I am fortunate to have Mrs. Tammy Mobley as my assistant and we work together to make sure our students are equipped with the language skills that are essential to learning within the classroom as well as in the outside world.  We work on listening skills, speaking, reading and writing in all curriculum areas.  We continuously assess student needs and adjust our instruction so that our students reach their goals.  It is important that parents and teachers work together so that our students excel. Please contact us with any concerns or questions!  I can be contacted by email or call 910-296-1647.
