Hello, I am Mrs. Carol Moritz Murphy, one of the ESL (English as a Second Language) teachers at Rose Hill - Magnolia Elementary School. Even though I was born in Ohio, I have grown deep roots in Duplin County. I began first grade at RH-M the very first year that it was open! My education continued at Charity Middle School and Wallace-Rose Hill High School, where I graduated in 1984.
I attended James Sprunt Community College, UNC Chapel Hill, and UNC Wilmington, earning an Associate in Applied Science degree in Business Administration, an Associate in Arts degree in Pre Elementary Education, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Mathematics.
I've been married to my husband, Garry, since 1986 and our son Kyle is currently a Senior at Wallace-Rose Hill High School. Our four-legged son, a black Labrador named Hunter, completes our family!
My teaching career began at Kenansville Elementary in 1995 where I taught 2nd grade. The following year I moved up to 3rd grade with my class. I stayed in 3rd grade for a few more years until Kyle was born. After being home with him for a year, I became the part time AIG Teacher at Kenansville Elementary. I continued part time until Kyle began Kindergarten and then became full time with the added responsibility of being the Duplin County AIG Assistant. In 2012 I was transferred to RH-M as the full time AIG Teacher, and in 2015 I transferred to the RH-M ESL department.
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, and reading. I particularly enjoy reading while sitting on the dock at the river!
