    Welcome to PreK!

Hello!  My name is Christina Strickland and I would like to tell you a little about myself.  After graduating from Wallace Rose Hill High School, I earned an Associate's degree from JSCC and a  Bachelor's degree in Education of Young Children from  UNC-Wilmington.  I have worked as a prekindergarten teacher for Duplin County Schools for the first seventeen years of my career. I then worked a year as an EC Pre-K teacher. This year, I am a Kindergarten teacher and love every minute of every busy day with your sweet children.  I was excited to be hired because I very much wanted to serve the community that served me throughout my own childhood and help children to become excited, successful, and lifelong learners.  I believe in the old adage that it takes a village to raise a child - so, Parents, please don't hesitate to communicate any suggestions or concerns so that your child's learning experience can be a great one.

My time away from school is spent enjoying time with an awesome family, going to church, volunteering, traveling, and hobbies (my favorites being hiking in state and national parks and quilting.) My husband, William, and I have spent the last 33 years building our life together and we hope to have at least that many more. We have no children of our own, but we do have many nieces and nephews that we helped to raise and we love them very much.
