Fall season for Girls on the Run was a great success! Girls on the Run is a 10 week long after school program for third through fifth grade girls. Our practices consisted of lessons that encourage positive emotional, social, mental, and physical development. The team learned about self acceptance, nutrition, goal setting, peer pressure, gossiping, and how to make a positive effect on the world. The girls developed strategies and skills to help them navigate the challenges that life presents, while also creating the foundation for a lifetime appreciation of health and fitness. The program culminated with the girls completing a celebratory, noncompetitive 5k run in Wilmington!
