Mrs. Terry Smith
                   8th Grade English/Language Arts

It is my belief that all students can and will learn if provided a non-threatening and stimulating environment conducive to discussion and open communication.  Communication skills are vital to the English curriculum. The five strands of learning (speaking, writing, reading, listening, and viewing) are necessary components for successful communication in and out of the classroom.  It is my goal to provide all students the opportunity to effectively communicate,  empower them with the skills they need, and fortify them with the confidence to believe in themselves,  thereby ensuring a successful pathway as they journey into high school and beyond.

I earned a Master of Arts in English Education and a Bachelor of Arts in English Education with a Minor in History from The University of North Carolina at Pembroke. I currently hold a North Carolina teaching license for English/Language Arts grades 6-12.
