For most of my life, I have wanted to be a teacher. This is my 17th year teaching, I have the privilege to work here at CES for my sixth year. I am blessed to be part of a great community where we strive to make each student a success.

I graduated from Ball State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education with a Math Concentration. After graduating, I received my teaching license and worked as an assistant in a Special Education Classroom. The following year, I moved to NC to pursue my teaching career. I began teaching in a fifth grade classroom at a public school, then moved to middle school Science, Bible, and Math at private schools. In 2015, my family moved here to Duplin County where I joined the Chinquapin School Family in third grade.

My husband, Hank, is the pastor at Beulaville Presbyterian Church. I have three daughters and a son – Zoe, Cassandra, Esther, and Henry. Zoe is a sixth grader who loves to read and draw. Cassandra is a fourth grader who has a joy the she expresses in her love of music and dancing. Esther, my spunky 5 year old, will be starting kindergarten. Henry is 2 years old and loves to explore the world around him with his family

Let’s make the most of this year as our school motto states, “Every Student Counts, Every Moment Matters.”
