Hello Eagles! I am glad to once again have the Eagle as a mascot. I grew up in Elizabeth City, North Carolina and graduated from Northeastern High School, where I was a very proud Eagle. I have been in Education for 23+ years. I started in Secondary Education, but was chosen for middle grades, which has been a joy for me. I am licensed in Middle Grades and Secondary English. I also am Reading Specialist K-12 Certified with an M.ED in Language and Literacy. As well, I am finishing my Curriculum and Instruction Add-On Licensure Program soon. I love what I do, and I came to realize that as much as I love teaching the students, my greater purpose is to give them the guidance they need to be as successful as you and I know they can be. I expect the success from your students that I would expect from my own. Failure is only good, IF it promotes a learning opportunity!
I am a resident of Pender County and married with two girls, three grandchildren (Keymel, 13; Keora, 11; and Kayden, 8), and a Son-in-Deed. I have no pets...right now. I am an Alumni of Elizabeth City State University (Viking Pride!!) and UNC-Wilmington (Seahawks). I love to shop, read, and spend time with family and friends. I am also a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.
I am looking forward to working with you and your child. As a community, and like eagles. we will soar your child to greater heights.
