Welcome Parents and Students!
I want to take this opportunity to thank you for visiting my webpage. Fourth grade is a huge adjustment for students and I want to let you know that I will be here to assist in the transition. Your child's education is the main focus, but growth from within is a vital part in my class as well. Feel free to email me (firstname.lastname@example.org) or call after school hours if you need to talk (WARE number 910-293-3121). Thank you for your time and effort in all that you do. My goal is to make this the best year in your child's life.
This will be my 3rd year teaching 4th grade at WARE although I have been in the field of education, in some aspect, since 1994. In the past 25 years I have been a teacher assistant, Horticulture Instructor for Lenoir Community College at Maury Prison, An Adjunct Agriculture Instructor for Wayne Community College at Spring Creek High School teaching Juniors and Seniors Agriculture for college credit, I have owned and operated my own child care center and now I am back in the public school system as a licensed teacher. Although my experience has taken me numerous places and I have taught a variety of age groups, I absolutely love 4th grade.
I have been married for 25 years and together we have three children (ages 21, 20, & 16) My 21 year old has Asperger's Syndrome and he lives at home with us. My 20 year old is a Sophomore at NC Wesleyan College, he plays college football, and my daughter (16) is a Junior at East Duplin. She is a cheerleader for EDHS and Carolina Storm (competition cheer). I look forward to getting to know you and your child! Your child will become like one of mine, and I will love them like they are mine as well!
I graduated from Lenoir Community College with an AAS in Agricultural Biotechnology and an AA in Elementary, Middle and Special Education, UNCW with a degree in Elementary Eduction with a concentration in Science, and I graduated on December 15, 2018 with my Masters in Education. I believe that you never stop learning and we should follow our dreams, no matter where they take us. My dream is to eventually become an administrator so that I can continue to teach your child even after they are out of my class. I am a life long learner!
