Miss Melsheena Wilson
Hello! I am very excited to have your child in my class this year. My name is Melsheena Wilson. I have attended Duplin County Schools since I was in 3rd grade. I graduated from James Kenan High School. I received my Bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Mount Olive and an associate degree in School Age Education from James Sprunt Community College. This is my fourth-year teaching at Rose Hill-Magnolia Elementary School. Prior to becoming a teacher here, my very own children were taught here. I was so overjoyed with the teaching staff and administration that I became very eager to become a part of their learning team. I am looking forward to working with you and your child and filling them up with great knowledge.
We have a great year ahead of us! We'll be reviewing a lot, learning even more, and of course having tons of fun along the way! Third grade is an exciting year filled with new independence and increasing abilities. It is the first year of EOG testing with an increased emphasis on reading, grammar, math, and writing skills, as well as other assessments.
My hope is for our continued communication to help your child learn and grow. I strongly believe that parent involvement is extremely important to be successful in the classroom. I would love the opportunity to learn as much about your child as possible, so if you could please have your child answer the questionnaire in Google Classroom for Social Studies.
I appreciate you taking time to review this information. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns via Google Classroom or email.

Thank you for all that you do and for all that you are continuing to do to help keep your child's education a priority.
