Brittany Knowles

Welcome to your 2020-21 English I or English I Honors class.

My name is Brittany Knowles, and I am a lifelong resident of Duplin County.  I have always been driven by the need to learn.  During my years as a student in Duplin County, I had several teachers who fostered my love for learning, and because of them, I wanted to become a teacher.

My husband, David, and I have a 3-year-old little boy, Fin.  From spending time at the beach to exploring the outdoors, he keeps us busy.  It's so fun to see the world through the lens of a toddler!

I will encourage you each to read daily.  Find something interesting to you, and READ!  I look forward to an exciting year as your English teacher.  Please feel free to contact me.

HOW DO I BEGIN THIS CLASS?

If you have access to Wi-Fi, you will complete all learning activities through Canvas.  To access Canvas, you will need to log in to NC EdCloud using your UID and password.  You can also download the Canvas app on your phone.  Once you log in to Canvas, review the homepage.  You can begin working on assignments by clicking on MODULES to the left.  There will be a module for each week.  Click the week's module you would like to begin and read the overview.  In the overview, you will find the purpose of the week's activities, along with a list of assignments to complete.  Use this as a checklist to ensure you complete all work.  Activities for each module are due by Friday at 11:59 pm.  Use the NEXT BUTTON in the bottom right to move through the module.  If you have any questions, please email me.

If you have limited access to Wi-Fi, you will be able to download materials from Canvas and work offline.

If you do not have access to Wi-Fi, you will need to complete paper/pencil packets.  These packets can be picked up at the school.  To return work, you may return the packet to school or snap a picture of the packet and email your packet to me.
