My name is Marsha Quintanilla. I am the Spanish teacher here at North Duplin Jr. Sr. High School and very excited about being part of the rebel family. I am a 1999 graduate of James Kenan High School. After high school, I worked a year to save money for college where I went to James Sprunt Community College and obtained my Associate's degree in General Arts and transferred to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington where I obtained my Bachelors's degree in Spanish.
This is my 12th year teaching Spanish and 8 of those years are in Duplin County Schools. I started my teaching career at Hobbton High School located in Sampson County. I then left Hobbton and went to James Kenan High School where I taught for 6 years and left because I wanted to stay home with my now 7 year old son Ian. In 2018, I starting subbing for Duplin County Schools and February 2019 I was given the opportunity to teach Spanish in the community in which I live and am very involved.
I have been married to my husband Noe for 17 years and we have been very blessed with 3 wonderful children. Eva is 16 years old and is a sophomore this year at North Duplin Jr. Sr High School , Noa is 13 years old and is in the 8th grade at North Duplin Jr. Sr High school, and Ian is a 8-year-old second grader at North Duplin Elementary. I am also a licensed Zumba Instructor at Fit4Life in Mount Olive and have been teaching classes for 11 years. I am licensed to teach Zumba Kids, Zumba Step, and Zumba. I recently received my license to teach Strong by Zumba which is a HIIT (High intensity Interval training) workout program. I love teaching Zumba and all the wonderful benefits it brings to my life.
I am super excited about being a rebel and hope to make learning Spanish an exciting adventure. If you have any questions or concerns please email me at mquintanilla@duplinschools.net or please call and leave a message at (919) 658-3051.
