About Me:

I grew up in Eureka, NC and graduated from Charles B. Aycock High School in 2007. I moved to Beulaville in 2011, after marrying my husband, and I have grown to love the community and people. I graduated in 2019 from East Carolina University (go Pirates!) with a degree in Family & Consumer Sciences Education. After working as a substitute teacher and completing my teaching internship at EDHS, I was thrilled to be able to give back and start my teaching career at EDHS in 2019.

Welcome to my Mrs. Summerlin's Webpage

Dear Parents,

I would like to welcome you to the high school team! We are excited about the new school year even though it looks different than what we've always known. This year, communication between parents and teachers IS KEY to ensure success. I will be reaching out AT LEAST once every 3rd week to the parents, and will do WEEKLY (if not more) check ins with students. I have set office hours and have provided my phone number for you to be able to reach out to me as you need me.

All assignments will be posted to Canvas. To get to Canvas, students can log in to NCEdCloud and click on the Canvas app/icon.  You can also download the Canvas Student app and type your NCEdCloud information.  You will have to type Duplin County Schools in the school name.  Feel free to contact me via email or phone if you have any questions.

Online Absences & Make-up Work:

Attendance is taken when assignments are completed and submitted in Canvas. This means, you must submit your assignments in Canvas before the deadline in order to be counted present. If you submit your assignments late, you will be counted absent and points will be deducted. All assignments will be due in Canvas by Monday at 3pm.  I strongly encourage you to work on your assignments each day and submit them in Canvas as soon as they are completed.  Do not wait to submit all of the week's assignments on Monday. *Note if you submit your weekly assignments at 3:01pm or later, your work is late and you will be counted absent.
