Ms. Walker

4th Grade Math and Science

I was born and raised in Chicago, IL where I earned an Associates of General Studies at Kennedy King College, one of the seven city junior colleges of Chicago. After graduation, I moved to Minneapolis, MN where I earned a Bachelor’s degree at Metropolitan State University before moving to Durham, North Carolina. I earned a Master’s Degree of Education at North Carolina Central University (Eagle Pride!).

I have worked in education for more than 19 years. My educational career began in Minneapolis, MN as a Special Education Assistant. I worked as an Instructional Assistant with the District 279 in Osseo, Minnesota before attending NCCU. While attending North Carolina Central University, I was hired as an Exceptional Children Teacher with the Wayne County School system before coming to work as a general education teacher for Duplin County schools.

I currently live in Wayne County, NC with my younger daughter (Jimella), as my older daughter (LaShannen) lives, works and attends school at North Carolina Central University in Durham, NC.

I am excited to begin work with the 4th grade team at Rose-Hill Magnolia School where the Eagles fly high!
