My name is Harley Loomis, and I will be your child's math teacher this semester. I am so excited to be a part of your child's educational journey. I am a Duplin County native and couldn't be more thrilled to be a part of the Duplin County school system.
I am a 2020 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with my BA in Mathematics. I am an upbeat, energetic woman with a passion for teaching and learning. My greatest quality and what makes me who I am is that I am a Mother. My son, Case, is three years old and is the light of mine and my husband’s (AJ) life. He is one of the biggest reasons why I made the decision to go to school to become a teacher. AJ, Case and I will be welcoming twins (a boy and a girl) in September of 2021.
I have an enthusiasm for helping shape young minds and am thrilled to experience the growth made within the classroom. I am a teacher because I like to help students discover their potential and encourage them to continue to work toward that potential and eventually exceed it. Along my educational journey, I have been blessed with several inspirational teachers and I am thrilled to follow in their footsteps.
Another fun fact about myself is that I am a 2013 graduate of James Kenan High School and have been and continue to be a PROUD tiger. I am so thankful to be able to bring my knowledge and passion home to Duplin County, specifically JKHS. My family and I live in Pink Hill, NC and in my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, singing, and soaking up all of the precious moments I can.
I cannot wait to spend this semester learning and growing with your child. Please feel free to contact me anytime throughout this semester.
