Mrs. Ficken
  • Hello everyone,

My name is Danielle Ficken and I am the school counselor at North Duplin Elementary School.  The school counseling program helps all students achieve success.  The purpose of our school counseling program is to impact specific skills and learning opportunities in a proactive, preventative manner, ensuring all students can achieve school success through academic, career and personal/social development experiences.

Academic development includes acquiring attitudes, knowledge, and skills that contribute to effective learning in school and across the life span, employing strategies to achieve success in school and understanding the relationship of academics to the world of work and to life at home and in the community.  Career development includes the employment of strategies to achieve future career success and job satisfaction as well as fostering understanding of the relationship between personal qualities, education, and training and the world of work.  Personal/social development includes the acquisition of skills, attitudes, and knowledge that helps students understand and respect self and others, acquire effective interpersonal skills, understand safety, survival skills and develop into contributing members of our society.

If you have any questions or concerns about your child, please contact me at (919) 658-2931 or email me at dficken@duplinschools.net.

Mrs. Cruse

Your child's social and emotional well-being matter! The mental health of our students makes a difference in their ability to learn, interact with others, and to reach their greatest potential.  Creating partnerships to promote success in academics, social/emotion well-being, and physical health are the responsibility of all stakeholders.
