Ms. Kendall Sorrell

About Me:

I graduated from Richlands High School in 2013 and went on to pursue my bachelor’s degree at UNCW. I am originally from Onslow County, however I made the leap and moved to Duplin County two years ago. I love working with families in the community as well as connecting individuals with resources. 

Professional:

I obtained my Bachelor's degree of Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 2017. I am currently working on my Masters of Science in Mental Health with a concentration in Family Dynamics. Since graduating from UNCW I have worked in Child Protective Services. I worked for Duplin County DSS for two years and then moved on to Jones County DSS for the last year. I am NC-State Pre-Service Certified and have specific knowledge in Investigation's, On-going Services and Permanency Planning (Foster Care). I have additional training on the effects of trauma in childhood development. I completed my undergraduate internship with Duplin County Schools during the 2016/2017 school year. I plan to use the knowledge I gained in Child Welfare to ensure a safe and happy school!
