    Quadratic Functions and Equations

This week we will continue solving quadratic equations using completing the square.  We will also learn how to write a quadratic equation in standard form. This will help us graph quadratic functions.

If you have any questions while watching the videos or taking the quiz, please email me and I will assist you!

    Quadratic Functions and Equations

This week we will solve quadratic equations.  We will use factoring as a method to solve quadratics.  We will also look at using the Quadratic Formula to solve quadratics.  Factoring is a great method to solve quadratics when the equation can be factored.  Because not all quadratics can be solved, we will learn about the Quadratic Formula because it always works when solving quadratic eqautions.

    Quadratics: Multiplying and Factoring

This week we will beging studying Quadratics Functions.  The lessons this week involve multiplying polynomials and factoring.  We have already studied Linear Functions.  Linear functions occur when all variables are raised to the first power, the graph is a line and when the function increases or decreases by a constant amount.  We have also studied Exponential Functions.  Exponential functions occur when the power is a variable (usually x), the graph is an expoential curve (growth or decay)  and the function increases or decreases by a percentage. Quadratics functions occur when the highest power of x is 2, the graph is a parabola and the function increases then decreases or decreases and increases.
