Grade / Subject: Fourth Grade Math and Science

Hello and welcome to another great year at Rose Hill – Magnolia!

I’m very excited about sharing this journey with you and your child! I have been a teacher here for 18 years, and I have taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades. I enjoy reading, knitting, and playing ball with my Jack Russell puppy.

I am very excited about getting to know your child this year. I believe that creating lasting relationships with my students is important! My emphasis is on developing responsible, respectful, self-motivated learners. My two favorite words are “think” and “why”. I want them to learn to think for themselves and to become independent young ladies and gentlemen! I want them to love to learn just for the excitement of it. I want them to take pride in their work. I want them to be able to stand up in front of a group and confidently share what they know. I want them to know how to think through any problem and try different solutions until they find one that works, and to know that there may be more than one solution for a problem! I want them to really feel deep inside what it means to learn, to succeed, to rise to the challenge, and meet it! If they do these things, they will always remember fourth grade as the year they began to grow up. And, it is. It is a hard year, but at the end of it the students have matured and changed more than in any one year so far.
