    Welcome to the Dog Pound!

Greetings, and welcome to the “DOG POUND”!  On behalf of our extraordinary faculty and students at Wallace-Rose Hill High School, I want to welcome you to our website.

Wallace-Rose Hill is steeped in rich academic and athletic tradition.  Together we can add to this already rich tradition to make Wallace-Rose Hill a top contender as one of the best high schools in the state of North Carolina.

Our school is dedicated to building strong relationships with students while engaging them in rigorous, relevant activities that will give them the skills to prepare them for the 21st century.  We are a dynamic, comprehensive high school seeking to provide the very best educational experience for our students. We offer a myriad of opportunities for student involvement ranging from student government, performing arts, sports, and clubs.

At Wallace-Rose Hill High School, we are committed to excellence and together--faculty, students, and parents--we can achieve more.  We know that to be excellent, we must also excel in our ability to communicate with our local and broader community.  I hope it becomes clear to you through this site and our interactions with you this school year that in addition to promoting excellence through the academic courses we offer, we strongly believe in developing well-rounded individuals who, upon graduation, are ready to successfully embark on their own journeys.

I invite you to contact us directly should you have specific information not contained on our website.

    Go DOGS!

  • Why?

Posted by TIMOTHY JENKINS on 8/26/2018

Martin Luther King once said: "Faith is taking the first step even when you don't see the whole staircase".  Wow...how powerful is that statement?  I think Martin Luther King was right on point, greatness can be acheived if we take the first step on faith.  How do we decide to take the initial step in faith?  There could be many different answers, but for myself it is two-fold.  First, I have a faith that is built on a ROCK, a higher power and a person that will be there for us when all others leave!  Secondly, I believe we must answer the following question:  What is my why?  Why do we do what we do?  Why is it important to acheive the goal?  When we begin to think about our why, we must be prepared for the answer we find.  When we truly determine our why, then we must do everything in our power to live out that quest.  You may wonder..."Mr.  Jenkins, what is your why?"  I can sum up my why in ONE word, "YOU"!  You as one of my students, YOU as a parent of a student, YOU as a faculty member, YOU, YOU, YOU!  I wake up every morning and my wish is to have a positive impact on YOU!  PLEASE View the video:  https://youtu.be/56Qu3MY5EnU

  • What does it mean to "THINK"?

Posted by TIMOTHY JENKINS on 1/24/2018 8:00:00 AM

So many times during the course of our lives, we hear the words "THINK", You better THINK about it before you do this or that!  Son, why didn't you THINK before you answered the question.  Think, Think, Think!!  As adults, we tell our children to do things that sometimes they do not understand.  So what does THINK mean?  Of course there is the academic meaning.  THINK, as defined by Merriam Webster; means to form or have in mind.  As a intransitve verb it means it means to exercise the powers of judgement, conception, or inference.  However, I would like to propose a different, more personable definition of the word THINK!  The word THINK should be a way of treating people, a way of running your businesses, a way of being a student...simply THINK should be a way of life!  THINK before you speak!

Be the change you hope to see!
