WELCOME MESSAGE: A great new year has begun, I am excited for the possibilities for this year. I know that the rest of the year will be exciting. Although I am new to the Kenansville Elementary School family, this will be my 12th year teaching. Every year we have another great group of students. We are going to be working hard this year with the goal of having everyone improve to their maximum abilities.
A BIT ABOUT ME : I graduated High School in Erie, Pennsylvania in 1984 and immediately left for Marine Corps boot camp. I spent the next 23 1/2 years as a Marine traveling the world working in the communications field. I have been married to the same wonderful woman for 28 years this December, we have 2 wonderful grown children, One working extremely well in sales and soon moving up in to a management position. Our other child is working as a social worker in Harnett County. In 2003 I completed by Bachelors degree in Business Administration graduating with high honors. I retired from the Marine Corps in November of 2006 and decided that I wanted to teach Mathematics at the middle grades level. I began working through UNCW while still working as a math teacher. I completed all my courses and in 2010 received my teaching license. This will be my first year teaching science, however science has always been an interest of mine. Math and science go well together.
I have many interests and enjoy collecting things. I love to cook, experiment with food, and try new foods. I collect stamps, football and baseball cards, movies, and books, I like to hunt and fish. My kids and I deep sea fishing each summer and this year we caught a combined total of 37 pounds of fish. The other major event I did this summer was took my wife to western NC to go gem mining, among other stones we found some small emeralds, rubies, sapphires, and garnets.
