Message from the Superintendent…
Thank you for visiting the Duplin County Schools’ website. Whether you are a parent, student, community member, employee or potential employee, we are excited and honored that you have taken an interest in Duplin County Schools. We value every DCS family member, so if you are not already part of our family, please consider joining us today!
While we are made up of 13 schools, at DCS, we are truly “One Family.” Our vision is to become an exemplary school system where all students and staff excel in a globally competitive society. Our mission is to work collaboratively with the community to prepare all students for career, college and life success. Our motto is “a unified approach to academic excellence.”
We have so many things to celebrate at Duplin County Schools. First and foremost, we celebrate our wonderful diverse population of students who through our unique district-wide STEAMA (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math, and Agriculture) approach are engaging in learning across all content areas allowing them to graduate with a pathway to a successful career. We also celebrate strong partnerships with a multitude of community and business partners including James Sprunt Community College and other educational institutions. Duplin County Schools celebrates the implementation of district-wide early college and our family commitment to give every child equal educational opportunities. We are determined to put the idea of college in the minds of children as early as prekindergarten, so that students strive for not only a high school diploma, but postsecondary education as well. A student-centered Board of Education; exceptional teachers, support staff, and administrators; dedicated advisory groups (i.e. students, parents, faith-based leaders, etc.) that are second to none... our list of celebrations never ends!
As your humble servant, my promise to you is to work diligently with the entire community to prevent and/or eliminate any barriers that might block a child’s path to success. I pledge to stay focused on and be true to our vision, mission and goals to ensure a successful school experience for all children in Duplin County Schools. I believe wholeheartedly that each one of our children can achieve their dreams. Together, we can make a positive difference in the lives of our children.
