Marketa Y. Hargrove
Welcome parents, students, and community stakeholders:Welcome to Kenansville Elementary School, home of the Tigers. My name is Marketa Hargrove. I have twin daughters who are sophomores this year. I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in Sociology. I obtained my teaching certificate and Masters in School Administration and Curriculum & Instruction from East Carolina University. Prior to entering administration, I taught Language Arts and Social Studies for 15 years. I have been an administrator for Duplin County Schools since 2012. This is my first year at KES as the principal. I am very excited to be here and eager to work with this community to provide our children with the best education possible.
I firmly believe that if you train a child in the way that they should go, then they will not depart from it (Proverbs 22:6).Therefore, we all must work together to train our students for success. At Kenansville Elementary, we are striving to align our goals, vision, and instruction to promote student success. Our goal is to prepare students to be successful in a globally competitive world. Our staff strives to meet the individual needs of our students through diverse experiences, college and career readiness, and a rigorous curriculum. We are committed to providing quality and equity in teaching and learning for ALL students as we work to make each day better than the one before. Every student counts and every moment matters at KES.
Finally, community and parental support is very important for the academic success and well-being of the entire KES family. Therefore, I look forward to establishing and maintaining strong partnerships with each of you. Feel free to contact me if you have questions or concerns. You may reach me by email mhargrove@duplinschools.net or by phone at 910-296-1647.
Sincerely,
Marketa Y. Hargrove, Principal
