DCS Students Enjoy Flamenco Dance Presentation

Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana!

KENANSVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA- March 10, 2017- The Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana brought flamenco music and dance in Duplin County Schools.  Elementary school students across county enjoyed the multicultural presentation made possible by the NC Arts Council, Community Council for the Arts in Kinston, and Duplin County Schools. Students enjoyed learning about the art form and many clapped and moved to the music along with the dancers.

According to its website, Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana is “one of the nation’s premier flamenco and Spanish dance companies” in its 32nd season. They believe the “universal spirit of flamenco, a multicultural art form, has the power to build bridges between cultures and inspire audiences from diverse backgrounds.” Their goal is to share the art with people who might not have the chance to experience it anywhere else.

Many thanks to Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana, the NC Arts Council, a division of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources, and the Community Council for the Arts in Kinston for sharing this wonderful multicultural presentation with DCS students.
