Wallace Elementary School Wins Elementary School Battle of the Books Competition

 Congratulations Everyone!

KENANSVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA- March 17, 2017- Wallace Elementary School won Duplin County School’s annual Elementary School Battle of the Books Competition today in Kenansville.  Chinquapin Elementary School placed second and Beulaville Elementary School placed third.  All elementary schools in the district were represented in the competition, which requires students to recall their knowledge of specific information from 18 books selected by the NC School Library Media Association.

Wallace Elementary’s team includes Brantley Hawes, Jace Turner, Gabrieionna Herring, Azyria Lee, Trust Obasohan, Sabis Mejia-Delarca, Jaden Pickett, and coaches Tonya Patram, Marcy Vallance, and Jessica Barba.

Chinquapin Elementary School’s team includes Claire Beth Bradshaw, Maggie Ray Bradshaw, Nora Avery Brown, Adeline Cavenaugh, Dezire’ Dixon, Allison Hollingsworth, Rachel Jenkins, Chesley Grace Merritt, Elleanna Rogers, Aubrey Ramsey, and coaches Nina Gail Lanier and Jenny Houston.

Beualville Elementary School’s team includes Beaty Brown, Daniel Jones, Mazilyn Kennedy, Leah North, Riley Snyder, Jenna Sumner, Carley Grace Jenkins, Nate Jones, Kyle Kern, Riley Parker, Tanner Smith, Eli Thigpen, and coaches Karrie Jarman and Laurie Sholar.

Wallace Elementary School will go on to represent the county at the regional Elementary School Battle of the Books competition.
