Wallace-Rose Hill High School Student Earns Prestigious UNC Morehead-Cain Scholarship

KENANSVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA- March 20, 2017- Wallace-Rose Hill High School senior Richard Livingston has earned the prestigious Morehead-Cain Scholarship from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He was selected from thousands of applicants for the scholarship, which is all-inclusive covering tuition and fees, room and board, enrichment activities and additional expenses for 4 years and 4 summers.

Livingston plans to earn a medical degree with a minor in Spanish, with his ultimate goal being to practice healthcare in Duplin County.  He is involved in the College Ambassador program, Student Government Association, and the Beta Club at Wallace-Rose Hill High School. He has undertaken a rigorous class schedule, including online classes from the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics and he also volunteers in the school media center. Livingston works at the Realo Discount Drugs in Wallace and is the son of Matt Livingston and Manya Livingston.
